I had Suzie out in April to give me a quote for solar panels after the company did a presentation in my work place. I had been interested for some time but during the presentation it sounded as if it had become more affordable than when I first started looking. The system was installed at the start of June. The installers were very professional, no wires visible and the system is hidden away. Within just a couple of hours the system was fully functional. I notice that there have been a few miserable days where it didn’t quite cover our electricity usage but most days it covers all of our needs and we also export plenty back to power Ni. The team at start solar installed 17 panels, battery storage, and EV charger and water heater a few weeks ago, and we’re addicted to watching the APP showing the energy being harvested from the sun and locked into the battery for use during the day. Our electric bills are high, working from home, electricity is in constant demand. Since the installation, we’ve used practically no electricity, and we anticipate a payback from the system within 4 to 5 years.

The inverter and battery were installed in the roof space, leaving the wall space in the garage free. The water heater was installed in the Hot Press, and heats the domestic hot water supply when the battery is charged (but you can divert the energy directly to the water heater at will if needed rather than it going directly to the battery). The APPs that track the electricity generation are easy to use, and the system takes care of itself with no intervention needed once set up.
